Black and white images are amongst my favourite to look at and since becoming remotely serious about photography, I’ve been exploring ways to edit black and white images.

Recently, I came across this Photographer (Serge Ramelli) via his YouTube account when searching for Lightroom 4 tutorials.

One video that stood out was a tutorial on how to create subtle black and white images, which I have followed and practiced on this photo I took last winter in Kaunas, Lithuania.

In order of appearance, is (1) the original image taken from the camera (2) a dramatic colour edit (3) a dramatic black and white image and (4) the final subtle black and white image.

Kaunas Subtle B&W

I really like the final image, what are your thoughts/opinions?

Hey guys,

Back in November 2012 I spent a long weekend in Kaunas, Lithuania.

It was the first time I’d taken a DSLR on a trip with me and although I was still using the standard 18-55mm kit lens my 600D came with, I was happy having a camera capable of so much more than a standard point and shoot.

Unfortunately at that time of year the sky is pretty blown out, making landscape shots particularly unflattering. Below are a few of my favourite shots from my trip – Craig

Hey guys,

Yesterday was the Bristol Zombie Walk 2012 and I spent the majority of my afternoon up close and personal with hordes of the undead on the streets of Bristol.

Below is a selection of some of the photos I captured…Brainnnnssssssss!

The rest of the photo’s can be seen on my Flickr Photostream
